A 12” x 18” watercolor and ink on paper, this great blue heron was one I met while staying with friends in Mount Kisko, New York. She was very bold and often flew right past me or posed for some magnificent photos which I have been using as sketch material and inspiration for painting. It has been such a joy to attempt to capture all her many shades of blue.
